Picking Correctly

I could go off on how great Steve Nash is or how he's really produced for the NBA, but I'm going to talk about something better that he's taught about... Jesus.
Steve Nash has been a honest christian for a certain amount of years not mentioned. He puts on about 4 charity events a year. He attempts to make everyone happy, not for his own fame but for the success of others.
Steve Nash has been a role model of mine for about 4 years and he really loves what he does and does what he loves. We should all take him as an example. Doing things we don't love doing why do it at all? I'm not implying that since some of us don't love school we don't do it. I'm implying that once we pick our jobs...
we pick one we love.

Should People Get A Second Chance In Life?

One of the biggest questions in life is, "should people deserve a second chance in life?" I say yes, you should learn from your mistakes in life, and if you don’t get another chance you might just keep falling further down till you lose everything you ever had. An example of this Josh Hamilton the center-fielder for the Texas Rangers; the team is currently in the World-Series. Josh was drafted in 1999 as the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, but early into his career he was injured in a car accident.  Then he started to hangout with some people he met at a tattoo parlor. This didn't work well for him.  He started doing cocaine and other drugs. He was suspended by the MLB.  Soon after being suspended he went to rehab, stop using drugs, got married, and became a father.  After getting married he soon started using drugs once again.  He lost 50 pounds and his life was spiraling out of control.  He knew if he didn’t change his life, everything would soon be over. So he changed his life and became a Christian, he and his wife got back together, and he started working out again. In 2007 the Cincinatti Reds signed Josh Hamilton in spring training; it turned out to be a great decision. That season Josh Hamilton was a top hitter for the Reds, then they traded him to Texas where he took off. He hit 32 homeruns in his first season and again this season. He is one of the best hitters and defensive players in baseball. He lost everything but was given a chance to have it all back, and when he got that chance he made good use of it. In life I think people should get second chances, whether or not the person succeeds does not matter; because at least they were given the chance at it.

Moss lands in Tennessee

Randy Moss came into the NFL in 1998 when he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings. Randy Moss had the best season a rookie could have in 1998 with 11 touchdown catches. Those 11 touchdown catches for Moss were and still are a record for a rookie. In early March of 2005, the Vikings traded Moss to the Raiders for a linebacker. Randy played the 2005-2006 seasons with the Raiders hating every moment of it. After playing those seasons with the Raiders and not producing much, the Raiders wanted to trade him to somebody. The Raiders tried talking to their rivals the Denver Broncos, but the Broncos weren't interested. Then the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots spoke up and offered deals to the Raiders. The Patriots ended up winning the talks with the Raiders and accuring Moss. The following fall of the 2007 season would be Moss's first season in New England and another recorded breaking season for him. Moss learned the Patriots playbook and played outstanding. Moss caught 23 touchdown passes from Tom Brady to set a NFL record of most touchdowns in a season. Randy Moss produced a lot more in New England then he did in Oakland. Moss started out playing for New England this season but in halfway through Week 5 the Patriots traded Moss back to the Vikings. Moss played 4 weeks with the Vikings going 1-3 with them. The Vikings decided to put Moss on the waivers becuase of Moss's apparent behavior to his old team. The Tennessee Titans were the 26th team on the waiver list, they took the chance and picked him up. We will all see how Randy Moss will fit into the Titans offense.

What is our purpose in life? What does God have in store for us? Do we decide what our purpose is or does someone else? For me, I will discover my purpose and let God lead me on the right path. What about you? What will you decide?  Do you know your purpose? And when you find that purpose, will you continue to be curious about what God's plans are for you? I know I will always be curious until the day I can ask Him, there are many things I would like to ask the Lord.

Giants World Series Champs

Giant teammates swarm onto the field after the final out.

The San Francisco Giants are the World Champions for the first time in 56 years. 56 years ago the Giants didn't have the name San Francisco on their uniform, they were the New York Giants. The Giants during the regular season weren't expected to make the playoffs. The Giants during the regular season weren't a considered a stron offensive team. They would win most of their games by only a run or two margin. Most people thought that the Atlanta Braves would beat the underdog Giants, but that didn't happen. The Giants beat the Braves and advanced onto the NLCS, where everyone thought except the Giants fans, would lose to the Phillie's. But in 6 games the Giants beat the Phillies to play the Rangers for the World Series title.

Now moving onto the World Series, everything before mattered because the Giants had won both Series as the Rangers did. The Giants were the diffident under dog coming into the Series, because the Rangers had great pitching and offense, while the Giants hadn't been scoring manyof runs, and their pitching had been pretty lucky. Cliff Lee, the Rangers star pitcher had 9 days rest coming into Game 1 of the Series. All that rest didn't help Cliff Lee, he ended up pitching one of his worst games of the year and the Giants took an early 1-0 Series lead. The Giants never looked back, winning Game 2, losing Game 3, and wining Game's 4 and 5.

Misfits

If you watched, or heard about, the final game of the World Series last night you would know that the San Francisco Giants beat the Texas Rangers. Everyone addressed them as a bunch of misfits, underdogs, and how they had no shot at winning. One of their players wanted to grow up to be rodeo clown, one's so superstitious he wore pink underwear to every one of his games, and one player even walked into the stadium with a bow-tie and his real hair down past his shoulders.

No one likes the misfits. If you've seen one of the classic Christmas movie you would know the Island of Misfit Toys. The misfits are the ones that people think have no use or have no good quality to them. Fortunately for the misfits, God always helps them be successful. The San Francisco Giants are the new World Series champions. After the final strike, the unnecessarily bearded pitcher looked up to God and made a cross with his arms, then started to celebrate.

Amazing

*Flashback*

I am at the Olympics in February and I am just enjoying the beautiful and sometimes wretched attempts of the trying athletes. While I'm here I didn't text anyone or spaced out to the TV. For the first time in a while I'm present. I enjoyed the Olympics even though I was surrounded by ecstatic Canadians.
Tonight I'm going to a laser show in the city centre or some cool outside showplex thingy. 

*After the Laser Show*

Only one word to describe that show. Wow. The actors (or stuntmen) came down on zip line dressed as a hockey goalie. It was amazing. There was a song that was playing while some lady was a waving a Canadian flag around. It was very sentimental.
*Back to the Present Day*
From the Olympics in Canada to watching World Cup in Mexico, my year has been pretty hectic. But after all the events that happen in our lives we happen to remember the little moments that some we would forgot and move on. There are the little tiny moments that God grabs our hearts and  He doesn't let us forget them.

What goes on Halloween night?

Most adults/parents take their little kids out to go trick or treating, others may even stay home and watch "scary movies." For me, well, I stay home nowadays and greet the trick or treaters at the door with a creepy costume. I think I enjoy staying home, rather than going out and grabbing bags full of candy. Seeing all of the cute costumes that the little kids dress up in is a lot funner than feeding my face with abundant amounts of chocolate [ :) ]. I stayed up quite late watching all kinds of scary movies, some were quite funny too. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a movie created and directed by Tim Burton. I watch it every single year with my parents while we wait for kids to knock at the door, asking for candy.
